Roy Hutchins opens "Roy's Smokehouse" in Princeton, Texas. The original building was literally attached to his family home. Roy worked the pits while his wife Delores managed the finances.
1991
The Move to McKinney
After years of building a legendary local following, the family moves operations to McKinney, Texas, officially rebranding as "Hutchins BBQ".
2002
A New Generation
At just 22 years old, Roy's son Tim Hutchins takes over full control of the business, injecting fresh energy while strictly maintaining his father's dedication to the craft.
2014
Frisco Expansion
Tracy Hutchins officially joins as co-owner with Tim. To meet the massive demand, Hutchins BBQ opens their second flagship location in Frisco, Texas.
2025
Texas Monthly Elite
Hutchins BBQ cements its legacy, continually placing in the Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Joints, winning DFW's Best BBQ, and capturing national attention on the Food Network.
